Remodel continues

Well, today is Saturday and Brandon has arrived to help his dad lay the subfloor. The cabinets are due to be delivered on Tuesday--I'm excited! We went last week to pick out the faucet and garbage disposal. I can't believe that John wanted to put a disposal back in, since we practically own stock in Roto Rooter. This house is 50-some years old and had old plumbing in it and our former disposal was always backing up, so John said "NO MORE DISPOSAL" and of course, I said our grandaughter's favorite word as I rolled my eyes which was, "oh brother"! But since we now have new plumbing in the kitchen (and bathroom) he agreed that we probably should put one back in, but I had to agree to not put any veggies down it. (I was told by a plumber that garbage disposals help keep them in business) so I agreed that I would not put any lettuce down it (notice I said "lettuce"--ha-ha). All kidding aside, with our new plumbing, everything should be much better now. As most of you probably know, I grew up in this house. My mom and dad bought it in 1951 for $6,000. Anyway, when John was tearing out the cabinets, he stumbled across an old baseball. I gave it to my brother, John, as it was most likely his or my other brother Jim's. That was pretty cool. Our neighbors, Ron & Di, just stopped by to check on the progress of the remodel and Maggie wanted to go home with them as she hate's the noise of the nail gun, poor baby. Love to all.
